যেমন সংবিধানের ১৪৮ অনুচ্ছেদের তৃতীয় তফসিল অনুযায়ী রাজনীতিকেরা ব্যতীত অন্যদের বেলায় শপথের বাধ্যবাধকতার হস্তপ্রসারণ অনেকটা অসীম।
বলাবাহুল্য যে, তৃতীয় তফসিল অনুযায়ী রাষ্ট্রপতি, প্রধানমন্ত্রী, মন্ত্রীবর্গ, প্রধান উপদেষ্টা ও উপদেষ্টাবৃন্দ, স্পিকার ও ডেপুটি স্পিকার, প্রধান বিচারপতি ও বিচারকবৃন্দ, প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার ও কমিশনারবৃন্দ, কম্পট্রোলার ও অডিটর জেনারেল, পাবলিক সার্ভিস কমিশনের সদস্যদের বেলায় সংবিধানের ১৪৮ অনুচ্ছেদের তৃতীয় তফসিল অনুযায়ী শপথ গ্রহণ করতে হয়। রাজনীতিকদের বেলায় প্রযোজ্য উক্ত শপথের লালন-পালনে প্রচলিত রাজনৈতিক সংস্কৃতির আঙ্গিকে অনেকটা শৈথিল্য দৃশ্যমান। অনেক সময় অনেকাংশে ক্ষমাসুন্দর দৃষ্টিতে দেখা হয়ে থাকে বা আমাদের সংস্কৃতি তা-ই বলে। রাজনৈতিকেরাও ‘বাইন-মাছ’সম বামে-ডানে সরে যেতে সক্ষম হয়ে থাকেন।

Mannan
had

Member

Parliament

a
Constituency

Jatiya
Sangsad-181
(Dhaka-2,
Nawabganj)
for
four
consecutive
terms
from
the
fifth
to
eighth
parliament
and
served
as
a
State
Minister
for
Civil
Aviation
and

later
for
Textiles
from
1991
to
1996.
Earlier
from
1978
to
1981,
he
had
served
as
Managing
Director
of
Biman
Bangladesh
Airlines.
He
was
the
Founder
Chairman
of
Bengal
Airlift
Group

1982

till
his
death;
Managing
Director
of
A.R.
Chowdhury
Securities
Ltd.
President
of
South
Asian
Federation
of
Accountants
(SAFA)
and
served
as
District
Governor
of
Rotary
International
District
3280
(Bangladesh)
in
1989-90.
He
had
been
Chairman
of
Pacific
Asia
Travel
Association
(PATA),
Bangladesh
Chapter,
for
14
years
and
also
served
as
Associate
Member
of
Wilton
Park,
Wiston
House,
Sussex,
UK.
With
a
wide
parliamentary
knowledge
and
experience,
he

his
first

the

his
