Hasanuzzaman Ripon was born in Chapainawabganj, Bangladesh. He earned both his LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. degrees from the University of Rajshahi. Though he began his career as an Assistant Director (Law) at Bangladesh Bank, he ultimately chose to dedicate himself to the judiciary through the BCS examination. Throughout his 19-year judicial career, he has served in various capacities—from Assistant Judge to Chief Judicial Magistrate to District Judge at the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal. He is currently serving as the Registrar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

His love for books began in childhood, guided by his father, Abdul Malek Mia, who introduced him to the scent and touch of books at ProtitiAlinagar Union Public Library while he was still in primary school. Even before completing his secondary education, he had already developed a deep attachment to both Bengali and world literature. Scouting and the guidance of his beloved teacher JibuSir, played a pivotal role in shaping his worldview.

He began engaging with literature and cultural activities early in student life. Hasanuzzaman participated in numerous competitions in debate, public speaking, recitation, singing, and acting—earning many awards along the way. To this day, he remains an avid reader. In his free time, he often sits with his daughter Raya at the harmonium, enjoying music together.

Bola Bahullô (Trifling Tales) is his debut published book.
